Nowadays, we need to memorize all the passwords of our favourite websites in order to be able to access them. Even though it is not easy remembering so many passwords, they are still the safest way to secure our online data. If you get rid of your computer remember to have the hard drive destroyed as it will retain all your personal data and could be used for identity theft.

Nowadays, if you cannot use passwords to their full potential, you are in jeopardy of online intrusion which can easily undermine your safety. In order to protect yourself from the aforementioned, you have to learn how to use passwords properly and efficiently.

If you follow all the important guidelines to keeping your accounts safe, you can be sure that you are making your online data and accounts impenetrable to hackers.

When you are creating a password you should never use recognisable words: always use uncommon words. Also, choose passwords that blend letters, numbers and even symbols with a length of 15 to 20 characters.

If you have many online accounts, always secure them with different passwords. If you do not, you are exposing your online information to whoever manages to hack one of your passwords.

There are many software programs that can protect your long and hard-to-remember passwords. You will not have to remember every single password you have. Moreover, you can choose a paid or a free software program depending on your preferences.

To secure your information even further, you can use two-step authentication. This process does the following: if you try to log on into one of your online accounts from a different device, the system will send you a message on your phone with a code, which you can then use to log into your account.

Even though many proposals have been made about how passwords would change in the future, no single idea has been widely accepted. Specialists, however, agree on one thing: passwords will not remain in their current form. Here are some of the most recent ideas that have been proposed:

According to Google, one replacement of the password can be facial gestures recognition. Simple gestures like winking or frowning can be used to stop hackers from using pictures to break into accounts.

Another plausible solution, which was introduced by Motorola, is a pill that contains a micro chip. Once it is swallowed, it will give out a distinct signal that is readable by devices. If you are not a fan of swallowing chips, you can also receive a tattoo which has very small LED lights that can act as your mobile authenticator.

People who are fond of wearing jewellery will be please to know that, at the moment, Google is trying to create devices that can connect to PCs and act as passwords.

Until what we discussed so far is more than just an idea, you should always keep to the rules we mentioned above. Just by changing your habits a little bit, you can ensure that no hacker will break into your online accounts and steal your personal information.
